What do you think about Murder Mystery parties?

Thinking of getting one to do on New Year eve, does anyone know if it will suit all ages - from 10 to 80 yr olds?! Are there any particular ones that are better than others? Thanks in advance.

Noone been to one? Would like opinions!

I've hosted around half a dozen murder mystery - I've just done a quick search looking for who made the ones (same series different titles) but I can't find it at moment, if I find it I'll post link.

My experience the nights when everybody has 100% participated, they have been fantastic and are highly entertaining.

The nights when people have got distracted, and been to busy socialising and weren't fully involved, they became too disjointed, and very much like hard work.

Maybe need to make sure your guests are up for this, I am probably in a minority but I absolutely hate these and would far rather just socialise and chat. I feel really awkward if I get invited to one, I don't want to not go or to seem unappreciative, but I just cannot get into the spirit of it at all.
