It's my birthday and I'm sat here feeling down......................

What happened to the days you and some mates went out and got p**d on your birthday. We had a family lunch at the weekend, very nice but I could really do with a girls night or at least some company!! All my pals are either childless and busy or preggers!! Dh is great but I have to tell him what to buy me (and what colour) and I bought myself a cake. He forgot to get me a card from the ds's, but got me one from him - to my lovely wife made me feel 50!!

What happens to all the spontaneous gestures when you've got kids and been married ages? Do you have to do every bloody thing yourself?

ssd - happy birthday!!! At least be telling your dh what to buy and what colour to get it in, you got exactly what you wanted. He might have gone out all by himself and bought completely the wrong thing! Also, don't worry. All men need to be told to do the little things like buy a crad from the kids!

Make sure you give yourself a birthday treat (massage, haircut, take away) even if it's belated.

Just shown dh the nude pic of Brad Pitt and he has grabbed the mouse from me to see if there are any nude pics of famous women! All we found was some disgusting porn shots, but if it tickles your fancy ssd, just search that site!

I'm here and SOOOOOOOO chuffed you've all answered me!! I thought I'd turn on the pooter and find no-one had replied!!.
You are ALL fabulous and I lurve my pressies and poetry card!!

And if the bar's open can I have a bacardi and coke? Double please! (or "whores juice" as we used to call it in the olden days )

Ulysees it takes more than that to knock me out!!

"whores juice" was a lovely expression picked up from an older friend who still went clubbing in her forties and had a great choice in words! I seem to remember "shagging shoes" eg. stilletto's was one of them!.

MMmmmm, I'm really enjoying this bacardi, whoever poured it knows her stuff!

Oh yes I've heard stilletos called that before and they worked in the 80s

Yes they did work in the 80's didn't they, mind you most things worked then!

Now not sure what's working at all IYSWIM.
