How do I make the party as fun as possible?
I have a small house so ideally, I'd like to get the kids outside for a bit for a treasure hunt or apple bobbing?
Hopefully they'll be a bit calmer once back indoors for a some halloween inspired food and a dvd.

Anyone have any ideas for games, food and dvd?

Thanks.

Have done one in the garage before! Cleared all the junk to the back then put a tarp over the junk. Hung up some cob webbie stuff to blend in with the real cob webs.

Then had them do a bit of apple bobbing (washing up bowl and apples), find the pennies in the mud (pennies in a gloopy cornflour/water/food colouring) mix thing. Then a bit of marshmallows in flour.

Bit of monster mash dancing and statues game.

Then fed them hot dogs (stuffed in rolls to look like fingers), jackets etc.

Was incredibly messy but the kids loved it!

I like the pennies in the gloop idea! I'll definitely do that.

I was looking through a party games book last night for exactly this kind of inspiration (DD is nearly five, plus we'll have a few three and four year olds coming), and came up with these:

Pin the spider on the cobweb (winner is whoever gets closest to the squashed fly in the centre)
Variation on egg-and-spoon race, using ping pong balls instead of eggs (am going to draw on the balls to make them look like eyeballs) - or I guess you could use some of those chocolate 'eyeball' sweets instead.
Scary story 'stomp' (read a simple picture book and every time you say a certain word they have to jump up and stomp their feet - I was going to use one of the Ahlbergs 'Funnybones' stories about the skeleton family)

Glad to hear any other ideas as well!
