ds2 (8) wants a party, he is having a lot of trouble with friendships ATM, they have just mixed up the classes and all his close friends have gone into another class, he is also dyspraxic and of course sport rules which he is not so good at......

most of his friends are girls, and I just can't decide what to do he's keen to have a party in local village hall (his older brother had one which he thought was fab) so do I invite 8 girls and 1 or 2 other boys do some art and craft and hope the boys behave? do I invite 20 kids and do party games etc?
do i need an entertainer? would a magician be too 'young' for 8 yr olds/
(I probably can't afford one but thought I'd better check......)
any ideas/thoughts gratefully received
