Sylvanian Families birthday cake?

DD1 will be 6 next month and would love a SF cake. Previously I've always baked a straightforward Victoria sponge, chopped it into the shape of whichever number is appropriate for that year and filled any gaps with dolly mixture. This year's request is a bit more tricky!

I was wondering about a house shape and standing a couple of SF figures in front of it as I'm not sure how else to come up with something.

Help!

that sounds good , or a picnic scene, victoria sponge, greengrass icing, edible paper picnic blanket, figures etc.

Yes, and it is quite easy to make edible figures from coloured marzipan. First colour the marzipan in different colours, put in fridge to cool (I know contrary to advice on most packs). Then shape and put in fridge to cool again. Leave in fridge until last minute or put on cake and then put cake on fridge until last minute before serving. I have done it with all sorts of cakes and works really well.

When I was about 8 and SF were around for the 1st time my mum made me a chocolate cake house with things like chocolate fingers for the roof and fence and the whole of the owl family were standing round the house. They were part of my present. Actually they were probably my main present!

I remember throwing it all back up that night as I obviously ate too much!

DD helped herself to the cake decorating books this morning and has decided she would really like a house cake. Result! I'll have to practise between now and then and I'm thinking it should probably match the SF cottage she's going to be given for her birthday. The SF figures will almost certainly stand guard outside; my Dad made me a number 7 cake many moons ago with Strawberry Shortcake figues standing on the top...SF feet are a bit fluffy for that though.
