What else should I organise for DH's 40th party?

Have invited people, contacted some caterers today who I'm hoping can sort out all the food.

Am debating whether to hire a marquee or not - anyone know what the weather will be like in Herts on 1st October?! Probably should get one, but they're so flippin expensive to hire and it feels like such a waste of money.

Need to buy booze once I've got a more concrete idea of numbers - reckon about 40 adults and 10 children most likely.

Party is afternoon and evening, so just going to put music on ourselves rather than get DJ. Need to do some compilations I guess.

What else have I forgotten??

M2S - if only the e in HerEford was a T it would be a v useful contact!!!

Loobie - good idea re the pics - his mum put an album together for people to have a nose at at our wedding, so I could get that out and leave it lying around strategically.

If I go for the marquee then I think I can hire extra chairs and tables from them, but good point - will need an alternative plan if I don't have one.
