Halloween fancy dress - is this a good idea?

We've been invited to a fancy dress halloween party.

Me, dh, 4yo dd and 2yo ds.

I thought it wd be fun to dress up with some sort of theme.

How about the Peppa Pig family?

It's not halloweeny, but does it need to be? I can't think of anything halloweeny that would work for all four of us. Can you?

It would be quite funny, as we are an English family amongst mostly American friends (they have all heard of Peppa). And dh has glasses and a beard.

If it's not a good idea, have you got a better one?

Sounds like a great idea. In the U.S they dress up as fairies and princesses and all sorts so Peppa Pig won't matter.

My son wants to go as Chuckie Hmm

I think it is a great idea.
You are lucky that your DH will dress up, mine would never do it!

Oh good. So not a terrible idea.

If I could think of something spooky that would work for all 4 of us we'd do that, but it's not easy with young children.

Dh is not a very keen fancy dresser but I have said he only needs to wear blue shorts and tshirt, and I will make piggy ears, snout and a curly tail. Not too much dressing up involved.
