Party activity for 3yr old boys at a fairy party

It is my DD's 3rd birthday party next Sat (week tomorrrow). Thanks to her going beserk with the guest list, I have 13 small girls coming and 3 small boys.

I was planning 2 activities. Fairy cake icing (which will then go into party bags) and fairy wing decorating (God Bless Yellow Moon).

What can I do with the 3 boys?! It is a fairy themed party because that is what my DD wanted. I'm assuming they will ice cakes but need an idea for another activity to keep them happy.

Cheers!

Um, can't they do the icing and wing decorating? They are 3, right? I think they'll love it.

Bet they'll love the cake icing - make sure you have some unisex icing colours/decorations.

Instead of fairy wing decorating, could you get them to do fairy sword decorating instead (make up some swords shapes out of cut out cardboard and they can scribble/paint/glitter etc those instead)? May be that they'd want to do the wings anyway but always nice to have options.

Why can't they decorate some elf wings? I bet they'd find it fun!

They do design-your-own-mask kits too.

They're 'scary' ones because Hallowe'en is coming but most of the little boys I know (and my DD too!) would really enjoy making one of those.

Or is it pixies that have wings? Confused

IMoveTheStars · 24/09/2010 12:34

my almost 3yo DS would love to do something like this! He may well call them dragon wings though instead.

I'd totally echo the idea of elf wings, or King Fairy crowns to wear, rather than swords to decorate - unless you want them to run around chopping up fairy wings, and each other with cardboard swords.

Thank you for the amazingly quick responses. I don't think elf wings will wash with these particular boys (2 of them are almost 4) I like the sword idea. They also do those on the website and they asy they are unsuitable for duelling! Sounds perfect...

Thanks for the reassurance... just want everything to go smoothly, found out I'm pregnant again last weekend - am feeling rough and it is too soon to tell everyone why!
