DC going to birthday party for 7 year old friend this w/e.
His parents spend a fortune on him at birthday time (and throughout the year) so he probably has most things.

Need an inspired, present for about £5.
All he seems to like is his DS!

Help please :)

Cheap DS games?
here
this

puzzle?

water sprinkler?

lego?

apparently going to be the next big thing

something a bit different

Hope that helps!

Can you just give him £5 - my DS much prefers to receive 'cash' and a lot of the mums I know have started to do this - saves even more junk!

Otherwise - what about a football - you can never have too many.

Not lego unless you know he really likes it - my DS used to be given loads and loads of lego - never played with it in his life !

Great ideas thanks.

Lego is a possibility but he has MASSES.

However love the sprinkler and the bands, just my sort of thing :)

Geomag/supermag/magnetix is good as you can never have too much, so it doesn't matter if you have a little or a lot. Ours is played with endlessly.

i agree that kids do like getting cash! We used to all give our ££ to one parent who then bought a ToysRUs voucher or similar from all the friends - meant s/he could have a really great time choosing.

also my really rich sil asks each invitee to give her ds £3 and then her son had actual money to spend on anything he wanted from the toy shop - he loved this (10 friends = £30, loads to him) and it really helped all the mums! She realised it was a bit intimidating to all the village families.

ooh the other thing my kids like is a voucher for the old fashioned sweete shoppe (a chain I think) and also a £5 voucher for cineworld/similar. A real treat!
