My son will be 6 in November and so far, like most of his other friends, all of his parties have been really active....soft-play centres, bouncy castles etc. This year though he is going to have major surgery in September/October time which will leave him in a full hip to ankle "broom-handle" plaster, totally unable to walk and ina wheelchair for about 3 months
.
Because he is going to miss lots of school (just as he enters year 1, he's likely to miss most if not all of the first term!) I don't want his friends to all forget about him and would love to be able to organise a party (not too expensive!) that would be memorable and exciting but not active as I definitely don't want him sitting on the sidelines in a wheelcahir wheile his friends all leap around! He's already having to miss out on attending other people's parties as currently, leading up to the surgery, he's not allowed to run/jump etc so is ruled out of most parties. And that will carry on for ages as he will be severely limited on his activities for the next couple of years at least. So, what sort of party (that would still be seen as cool by other 6 year old boys) could I plan?? Feel so sorry for him on lits of levels and would just hate it if his birthday passes without any party.
