A levels advice please

Hi everyone, my son is currently choosing his A-Levels and is planning career in accounting /finance. He definitely wants to take accountancy from the list but we are trying to figure out the best subjects to pair with it. He feels that maths might be too challenging, and computer science isn't his strongest. planning to apply for an apprenticeship after completing his A-Levels rather than going to university.
Does anyone have advice on which other subjects would be highly valued for the field of work he wants to do. He can choose any 1 subject from each block and can choose 3 in total. Any recommendations or experiences would be massively appreciated Thank you

Maybe business studies. Might help with some of the more business aspects of an accountancy qualification.
But honestly I don’t think it matters that much. I’m an accountant at a big 4 firm, and the grads we get have such a range of degrees - psychology, chemistry, geography, maths, history.

Accountancy A level won’t give him much of an advantage tbh,

Business studies would be a good fit with accounting, otherwise he should pick a subject he will most enjoy and is most confident in getting a good grade in

My accountant husband says don’t take accountancy! No need. Maybe maths only if he’s working at a good level 7 or higher but any combination of traditional subjects should be fine.

I wouldn’t take accountancy either. One of my DC got an accountancy apprenticeship without even taking A’Levels. DSIL got a place on an accountancy graduate scheme with a completely unrelated degree.

Doing an accountancy A’Level might actually be detrimental.
