My daughter starts uni in September and she is moving away and staying in student accommodation.

I want make her a hamper with some essential bits and peices that will be useful for her when she moves.

Anyone done anything similar or have any tips on what I could buy her?

If you look in 'Higher Education' there are lists for this sort of thing every year.

Is this 'things she will need / appreciate when she's there' (extn lead, a bucket, first aid kit, some paracetamol and other drugs she might use, including cold remedy, a couple of envelopes, a door stop, a 'v-pillow' as they don't tend to have a comfy chair so sit on their bed to read etc)

Or is this 'little treats' - for which people will suggest a gift card for Costa or Starbucks, some bars of chocolate, etc)

Agree with Carpet is this a list of things she might find useful, like an alarm clock or a treat box?

Also agree that the Higher Education section is great for jist this kind of thing Smile

I did this, mostly for essentials she might not have for the first few days while she got her bearings and bits to get her started out without her spending a fortune.
Some of the things were...
Painkillers, cold tablets, plasters, antiseptic, cleaning wipes, bathroom spray, washing up liquid, loo block, bleach, cloths, washing up brush, anti bac spray, salt &pepper, basic herbs and spices for the things she likes to cook, tins of beans and soup, noodles, tea bags, squash, biscuits, shampoo and conditioner, a couple of shower gels, hand soap, loo roll, loo wipes...
