Not the greatest topic but I have breast cancer so I have to think about it.

Any advice?

I'm sorry to hear this and hope all goes well for you. How old are your children? This seems to be on a topic board called Parents of Adult Children, but is you child actually grown up?

tothelefttotheleft · 06/02/2025 21:25

@stichguru

But have SEN.

What sort of provision are you thinking? Like will they need life long care? Presumably they can't be executor of your will, so who will be? Are you thinking financial or care or both? Do you own your own house? Will they live independently with help? Or need 24/7 care? Do they live with you now?

Fuck me you used a post about a woman with cancer asking how best to ensure the wellbeing of her children to try and flog your products. That’s shameful.

What sort of support will they need given their SEN?

If you are in the UK look into setting up Disabledd Person Trusts for each of them and write a will putting their inheritance in there. Contact Renaissance Legal for advice, a lot if our friends used them as they are specialists. That will protect their disability benefits
