What Are (Or Will Be) Your Rules For Adult Children Living At Home?

It will be a while before I have adult kids but would love to know out of curiosity!

This is interesting. My 18 yr old has gone travelling to Australia , my 17 year old is studying , but walks the dog when asked without question, let’s me know where he is and what time he will be home , my 18 year old step son works as an apprentice mechanic , doesn’t pay any rent, doesn’t let me know if or when he is coming home , or if he’s eating with us partner says he’s an adult he doesn’t need to. But it really riles me that he just turns up as and when he feels like it. The rent issue is between him and his dad I have no say in that , but he drives around in a brand new car , designer clothes etc.

Do your own washing
Keep your own bedroom and bathroom sanitary
Save at least half take home pay
Let me know if you are here for dinner
If you don’t like what I’ve made for dinner, sort yourself out
Tidy up after yourself generally
