Help ! My daughter has just landed a grad job in Manchester, close to the airport, and needs help in working out where best to live. She’s 24 and loves nightlife etc etc, but I need to know that’s she’s in a safe area for getting home late at night etc ? I’ve never even been to Manchester, so
dont know where to start !! She’s looking to rent with a couple of girlfriends. Any suggestions for areas to concentrate on/ avoid ??

If your daughter doesn't drive the Airport has a tram and train service into Manchester through several boroughs, so she should be able to find somewhere reasonable. Parts of Wythenshawe are to be avoided but I dont know it well enough to be sure which parts. Hopefully someone who knows the area well will be able to advise.

Tons of places within 5 miles of the airport and with easy access to Manchester City centre. What’s her rental budget and will she be driving or using public transport?

Salford quays, castlefield maybe?

Chortling-cum-hardy is nice and has a tram stop to the airport I think. The same for East Didsbury
