4kids have planned a family holiday for big birthday next year. None of them are speaking to the eldest. Would you go ahead with plans? I can't see rift being resolved any time soon

Well if all four of them aren't speaking to the eldest I'd assume they have good reason. So yes I'd go ahead and if you're the parent plan something separate to celebrate with the eldest.

I think that there are too many factors to make a decision based on the information you give such as why they aren’t speaking to the eldest and how the eldest feels about it; are they driving the rift or are they trying to fix things but finding their siblings have all hanged up on them? As the parent are you still speaking to them? And whose birthday is it? If it’s the birthday of one of the younger siblings and your eldest wouldn’t want to go to any celebration I think that’s different to if it’s the big birthday of a parent or other family member the eldest would normally be celebrating with.

I could imagine celebrating without any of them. If they can't manage to be civil, it's not much of a celebration with them.
