Adult child overweight, and depressed

I really don't know what to do about my child who is very down about her size yet will not take action. I try to get her to exercise and eat healthy but she wont! She suffers from depression but seems to have that 7under control right noe. She is a very beautiful girl with an even more beautiful heart. Great fun to be around but I know she's hurting. How do I help.her without annoying her? Her Dad is ok, he's very caring but fails to understand the depression side of things. I know he wants to help. I'm at my whits end. I hate seeing her so sad!

Calories in vs calories out doesn’t work. So read about what makes people gain or lose weight as in the end it is all linked to insulin. She might benefit from intermittent fasting and Jason fung talks about it in his books. Fasting also helps with depression. You might also want to read delay don’t deny or listen to the author’s podcast.

A life richly lived is helpful for all those things and is perhaps one of the few things you could influence (by getting involved with her) which would be more constructive because encouragement rarely makes any difference when you are depressed (speaking as someone who has been there). Are there any joint activities you could do together that would expand her horizons/ get her out of a rut/ increase her general confidence and in turn self esteem / be fun together?
Depending on both your inclinations but creative or sporting pursuits spring to mind and would be doable under current virus rules. Maybe something more social once possible?

She's on meds for depression and there's a slight improvement.

Some antidepressants make you seriously pile on the pounds.

Agree with the first reply - carbs mess with your weight and mental health big style. I tried low carb after a whole lifetime of struggling with my weight and mental health. I lost 25kg in 6 months, and hugely helped my anxiety and depression. I'd gently suggest it to her?
