Help for son with braces

My son who's just started university wants braces. They wouldn't do them on the NHS. In all honesty his teeth are not that bad, he has a slight gap but be is super conscious of them and hates them basically. He's got £2000 of savings but treatments vary from 3.500 to 4.500. I can't help him financially. Would he be better using the 2 grand as a down payment and getting a small bank loan for the rest? He's really down about it and I really need some advice. He has no spare cash from his student finance. Be is planning on getting a job but that won't cover the £160 a month he will need to pay. Help!

Have you shopped around for a quote, this seems expensive. Good luck 💙

Did he not qualify for braces when he was a teenager?

That figure seems really high, my friend has just had braces for top and bottom teeth and it was £2500.

Personally I would tell him to wait until he has finished uni and has a full time job.
