Hi guys

I could do with some advice. I'm in my mid 20s and have moved back with my mam & dad after my dad decided he didn't want to go back to work (late 50s) and my man was struggling with bills.

I give her just shy of 350 a month and essentially fend for myself - cooking, shopping etc I do all the washing up on a night and do most of the ironing for all of us as well as various other bits and pieces of cleaning when needed.

My dad however literally does nothing. Other than sit on my mams laptop. Won't cook, won't wash up etc. And is moody, bad tempered if I dare to go for a coffee with a friend for example. I work 5 days a week sometimes 6 and multiple times a week he goes through my room. Including my underwear drawer.

I don't want to leave and dump my mam with all the bills and stress but I need my privacy.

Any advice? It's getting to the point where I dread going home and am struggling to eat as a result.

Why doesn't he want to work, is he depressed or something? A lock on your door in the first instance but the only real solution is you move out again. Your parents' relationship issues are for them to work through not you

He was working away from home and the travel was too much.
He's been asked to get some help but refuses to acknowledge that he's the problem sadly.

What does your mam want to do about the situation? It might be worth her having a look at www.entitledto.co.uk to see if they are entitled to any help with benefits etc. Sounds like a difficult situation.
