Please settle an argument!!!!

I remember a thread a while back that some people stated that in the UK there wasn't a legal age as such.

BUT a guy in my office is insisting that his BIL is a Social Worker and says that it is against the law to leave a child at home unattended until they are 16!!!!

Please give me some Ammunition.

TIA

16!!!! You should have just laughed at him for being so daft as to think you can't leave a 15 year old at home unattended. My dad started working at 15!

I mean can you imagine laws where someone who is 15 yrs and 364 days old aren't allowed at home unattended, but the following day they're allowed to join the army.

Your parents can ask you to leave home at 16 and they are not obliged to offer you anything further than "guidance" or you can decide to do so for yourself...

I think maybe you should show him this , and this too. And just for the record I think he is very silly
