What doyou call little girl's vagina?

Have two boys and have just had little girl. My five year old asked the question, he has a willie, what is 'hers' called And I realised I don't know how you refe to this body part for children?

We have told our DDs that they have a vulva and a vagina but generally refer to their genitals as a whole as their bits. DD2 who is 3.5 always talks about her "vulavandvaginathatIcallmybits" as one long word so there was probably no point trying to shorten it!

Personally I think it's important they know what everything is called but am happy with bits as an equivalent to willy.

We call it her minnie, or her min.

We generally just refer to the vulva. The vagina's a bit out of sight, therefore mind, at the moment. She's only 2.

my dcs have a front bottom and a back bottom works for us

Depends really. Buttercup, bits, ladyparts, frontbottome, the list goes on. We don't have a specific word for it.

DD would refer to "the bit of my bottom near my wee/baby/poo hole" (delete as appropriate)

I've done my best with vulva, but she prefers a more functional approach...

My dd who is 7 (year 2) always refered to it as her front bum but came home proudly yesterday to annouce that she has a vagina as taught that day at school - then she told her 3 yr old brother he has a penis which he jumped aabout shouting - today however she could not remember the proper name so i reminded her when asked and then i said we could continue to call it front bum in our house as its tricky remember.

We use bits too - although I have started to tell her that its proper name is a vagina as she's old enough to understand that the same thing can be referred to by different names IYSWIM.

Here in Germany my dd's have learnt that they have a pee-pee mouse which I thought was really funny at first( but somehow on the same wavelength as talking about ds willie, in contrast I think vagina sounds too serious for little ones somehow but thats just a personal opinion-whaever works for each family!
