Sons 1st Sports Day Today :)

I am so so excited - starts at 1.30pm - going to take camera etc - anyone esles little ones sports day today? Feeling guilty too cos was a grumpy cow this morning. Ds woke me up at the crack of sparrow and did not get a friendly response esp as he was still clearly tired etc. I so should have remained cool and calm and am so cross with myself now.

Don't beat yourself up Awen - we're all like that! Enjoy the day, cheer him on. He's forgotten about already, so should you.

Sports day was great although it got rained out for last bit. Got video of ds doing an impression of a penguin in sack race. Feeling very proud

Lucky you Awen to have such a fun sportsday. At our school they've been training since last year for the parent's races and turn up in microfibre running gear. Some of them have even forced the au-pairs to undergo a NASA training schedule and don a tracksuit.

Our sports day is boring!!!! Its none competative and more like a demonstration. the children arent aloud to cheer whenn their house wins!!!!

also its on the day before they break up so if its bad weather it cant be moved!!!

They banned parents races.. apparantly way too competetive parents there!

my sons is tomorrow morning and my daughters tomorrow afternoon.my daughters, last year was really sweet she had to get dressed in hat scarf and handbag and run but she waited for her best friend so she would not be last.

no parents races!.yr 3 4 5 6 had to race against their own year and they got 15 points for first place 10 for second and 5 for third once all the points were added up my sons class won they have some very fast kids in his class (he is not one of them), but he did enjoy it. My dd came second in two races i was very surprised as i thought she had two left legs.tbh i am not competitive so i did not really care but was very proud of both.To top it all my dd had ran with the tongue stuck down in her trainers ouch.thanks for asking
