hello,

we have been using tots bots coloured bamboo aplix nappies now with motherease wraps since ds was 2 weeks and has been going really well until recently.

at night time i add a booster pad and use the xl airflow wrap but most of the time when he gets up he is soaking and i've to start and strip beds, wash, dry, etc so is starting to annoy me and more so that the poor wee man is uncomfortable and cold too! it does happen sometimes in the day but they are becoming a bit too tight on him for day use too.

the problem may be that he now at 20 months weighs 32lbs and is 90 something cms!! so what nappy would you all recommend? if i had to buy a whole new set i'd rather do it now so he gets full use out of them iykwim?

thanks if you've read all this, please help!!!

Let me know if you are!

WNNN aren't AI2s, they are fitteds. The AI2s are day nappies.

Not sure what I would do - don't need any training - will chat with Sally a bit more!

It's a social/training. I don't particularly want training either, but it would be nice to have the social side of it for a day .

octothechildherder · 04/01/2010 22:32

Depends who is going aswell! I just simply don't want to be within arms reach of a few people

octothechildherder · 04/01/2010 22:33

hmm that may be a no then lol lol

tellyaddict · 04/01/2010 22:35

thanks all, this really is confusing! i tried calling twinkle and kittykins today but no answer-might be the snow??!! will try again tomorrow.

Yes we got heavy snow this afternoon (but not til 4pm) in Reading, so Twinkle may well have been shut in advance due to 'extreme weather' warnings.

octothechildherder · 05/01/2010 23:35

or you could try Rayne at bebeco and she has a sale on atm - open most days and weds mornings if not snowed in!

nicm · 07/01/2010 21:18

octothechildherder thanks for the offer of help.

i have been talking to twinkle and got an email from kittykins. they have both said about using boosters, etc but both think probably i'm going to have to invest in new nappies as he's just so big. so we're going to get new nappies when we have the funds!

so i have the options of getting,
bamboozle size 3,
ellas house bumhugger,
huggle xl or,
toddlerease sandys!

so what would you all recommend?

twinkle also recommended a wool wrap. are these more reliable than the fleece wraps? i used the tots bots fleece wrap on ds when he was younger and it worked then. i have since ordered a bebesnuggle wrap but it leaks but i think if we had the bigger nappies then this would work well.

are the wool wraps hard work and what do i have to do and how often?

thanks

bump...for anyone with any thoughts on these nappies please? i'd like to order them tonight as the leaking is getting worse during the day now too and to top it all my washing machine has frozen!!

thank you.

Ok, not read all the posts so apologies if someone has already said this:

I would recommend a nappy trial with Babykind. They're very knowledgeable and you can try quite a few nappies and wraps to find out which ones might suit you and your DC best. We used them for our night-time nappy choice and it was really useful - DD uses Itti Bittis in the day so I was able to trial 2-part nappies, wraps and boosters (all alien to me at the time!).

Hope you find something that works well.

nicm · 19/01/2010 21:21

thanks purple crazy horse. i had just ordered them and then seen your message! i had been on the babykind website but thought the trial kits would have been for smaller babies. have ordered one of each of the toddler size nappies and have tried them all out. think we'll just go for a mixture this time...hmm...

One more vote for the Wee Notions Night Notions nappies! Absolutely the best nighttime nappy.
We've also tried the Upsy Daisy french soy nappies (they might be called something else), but these are really fiddly to put together (the large booster that needs folding doesn't go back in neatly).
