How often to bath a baby?

I'm sure this has been done to death....but I only bath my 3 month old about once a week - is this too little? He seems fine and I keep him clean by wiping and such.

He seems to have a little bit of dry skin on his legs which I oil (vegetable).

All my NCT mothers bath daily and I think perhaps I may be in the wrong.

DS (16 weeks) gets a bath every day now as it helps him sleep and it's a nice thing for DH to do. It's easier than top and tailing, though a bit wasteful of hot water. He still gets a smelly neck though, underneath all those chubby chins so have to wash it separately...

Oh my god, I have bathed DS every day for the 4.5 months of his life - except for maybe four or five occasions when I felt too lazy or we missed the boat time-wise. I suppose I felt it was good to establish a nighttime routine but I'm not sure that it aids his sleep, really.

I've been sitting here thinking that DS is still napping and hasn't had a bath yet and I'm getting to the point where I really can't be bothered tonight - so I'm glad to have stumbled across this thread to validate getting out of more duties tonight!

We bathed and still do bathe every 2 r 3 days.

We all get in.

I;m sure its disgusting but we enjoy it.

DD is 3.5 months and is bathed once a week (maybe twice). I currently have wrist pain due to lifting her so find it difficult keeping a good grip and also lifting her out again.

I think in the spring we'll move it up to every night as she'll be weaning and it'll be a bit warmer.

Mumble....do you have a huge bath?

We have a normal sized bath but reason we started bathing together was because I have problems with my arms and legs that make certian physical things (such as bathing a baba!) really hard.

Purple Crazed Horse... have you considered getting in too? You can upport baby on your body or in your ankles when they get biger etc and its great fun when they get older and you can prevent them from slipping.

{mumble crumble remembers when she fed Emble Pemple in the bath.... twas the most comfy place to feed!]

I do have the odd shower too..... And we wash DD nappy covered bits well morning and night.

Wonder if we could fit 4 in. We are both plus sized chunkies too.....
