I have 7 and 9 year old friends who LOVE the where's Wally books. I want to get them something that isn't Wally but that kind of thing - where they have to search the picture to find the listed items. Any suggestions????

Usborne do a series called '1001 things to spot' - we have 1001 things to spot in Fairyland and 1001 things to spot at Christmas.

We have the 1001 pirate things to spot and 1001 animals -very good. We also have a scooby doo book that is the same.
Antony ant is, but it's for a bit younger.

Also Usborne do a 'Great Search Series'. I can't quite remember what they are called dd1 has The great History Search and she used to have the Great City Search until dd2 thought she would find out what happens if you pour orange squash on a book ( a lot of shouting from me). This series is aimed at slightly older children than the 1001 Things series.

Our latest Book people selection at work has a 'Where's Stig?' Top Gear book - published by BBC books

Having now actually seen the Where's Stig book in more detail, I feel I should mention that some of the figures hidden in the pictures, (including one of someone apparently about to shoot himself) are not really suitable for younger children.

Usborne Castle Search is very popular with DS, who's 5, but I think it'd be fine for older ones too.
