how to get my dd to stop picking her lip...

my dd (now 2.5) has developed a habit of picking skin off her top lip. She started it last year when she developed a bit of cold and got chapped lips. She found a bit of dry skin and picked it off. Since then she does it nearly all the time and this week she has made it so sore that it has bled more than once.
She nows that she shouldn't so it as it makes it sore but what else can I try?

any ideas?

Oh dear, i'm obsessed with picking. Doesn't just stop at me either, DS cradle cap stood no chance and DP gets attacked if he has a spot or something. Thing is, if I try and stop it really winds me up!

hee hee - the lip is healing!!!

After two bouts of particularly bad bleeding I told her that if she picked it again I would take her lips off and give them to the dog and she would then not be able to eat any ice cream!!

Its worked she hasn't picked them since I think I frightened her bit!!
