Clothes for baby girl - can you recommend anywhere that sells clothes that aren't pink and frufru?!

My DD is now 3 months and I've started to think about clothes for her. I'm really can't bear the ubiquitous pink/embroidered/fairy/princess/frilly dresses and tops that shops sell. I'm looking for clothes that are more natural in colour and simplier in design, such as leggings, smock tops etc. Obviously as she is so small and growing so fast, I'm not looking at spending much but some basics for the winter would be great.

Matalan have some lovely baby clothes in at the moment, some purples but loads of lovely creams and beiges too

When their autumn/winter stock is in (haven't looked to see recently), Matalan often have some very nice stuff for small girls -- cord pinafore dresses, smock tops, etc. At least, they did last year.

Ebay is a good option, too. Most baby stuff there (a) has barely been worn, or in many cases has never been born, and (b) sells pretty cheaply. And not all of it is pink...

Tesco, H&M and Next do lovely girls clothes.

JojoMamanBebe do some very sensible yet pretty smocks, leggings etc. Pricey though.

I just picked the very plainest stuff in Primark / Tesco / Asda - putting girls' tops with boy's trousers or vice versa helps tone it down a bit

actually at 3m she was mostly wearing babygrows...

tesco have lots of turquoises, greys, fawns and purples ATM.

H&M when a little bit older is great..they have some fab butterfly leggings at the moment that sound twee but arent at all...

Agree with MrsB though - I couldn't find the time to dress a dc properly in clothes before about 6 months - babygros much more practical...

Nordic Kids have some fab clothes - if someone else is buying! (Seriously, good to have somewhere to point doting grandparents.)

H&M. Have just come back with 2 bagfuls of stuff for DD, no pink in sight.

My DD never suited pink so most of her stuff came from JoJomaman and H&M. TKMAxx often have a lot of bright girls stuff. Now (at 4.5yrs) she prefers to shop in the boys sections as she prefers the bright colours.

I've just spent over £50 in Zara... amazing clothes but a bit pricey. I felt completely justified tho as I was struggling to find anything non-pink for my auburn-headed baby girl!

Great, thanks very much. Yeah, I much prefer the baby grow but for some reason I thought I should start putting her in proper clothes. She's been dressed a couple of times cos we started to feel bad that she was soon going to grow out of the clothes people brought her with out even wearing them, and to be honest, she just looks a little weird! So I think a mixture of baby grows, leggings and tops are definitely the way to go

i agree with you completely and posted a similar thread a while back - some of the suggestions included H&M and Asda. Asda's autumn range is out now and colourful (sorry not neutral) but not all pink. Primark (like others have said) are great for colour other than pink.

Really can't stand all the 'princess' slogans. do you think if we all boycotted such slogans the clothes designers would finally grow tired of it?
