What do you call it?

My little boy is 2.2 now and we're potty training so he's getting more interested in what's going on 'down there'...

This morning he greeted his penis with "Hello Willy" as I took his nappy off and was pointing out his own and his Daddy's willy as they shared a bath this evening.

It's only a metter of time before he asks where my willy is !

But when he asks - I'm not sure how I'll explain it... Mummy has a.....?

Fanjo is obviously out, I'm not keen on Fanny, Vagina is too medical sounding, Front Bum is just wrong and Twinkle (as used by a friend of mine) is far too silly!

So I'm stuck! How do you guys refer to your bits in front of the kids???

In our house we have 'Minni' for girls' bits too (but I do see the awkwardness of the car and the cartoon mouse connection) and my now teenage son used to call his bits his 'willy and crackers' (but stopped that when he started to eat cream crackers ha ha). My toddler calls his bits his 'todgy and testes'. Not sure how it started, but that's what they're called now.

I don't really see any problems in using made up words, surely it's up to the family and their own comfortness? (is that even a word..?)

Friends of mine use 'middles' for girls and I've even heard of a 'mary ann'...

I've always said vagina. DS now 4 yrs old and very matter of fact about it all. Girls have vaginas (I'll explain all the other bits if/when he asks), boys have penises and testicles (but he likes to call his 'willy and balls', because that what 'everyone' ie. other kids, say). I don't think it's a huge deal, really. I'm not overly hung up on using the correct anatomical names, but I do cringe at 'minnie' / 'mary' etc. It just reminds me of other cringey euphemisms... 'got the decorators in' etc. But each to their own.
