until aforementioned bath or DH/DP arriving home - which ever happens first

colditz · 26/04/2005 18:12

I take it off and deal with whatever they do on the floor until bathtime!

I'm the same, colditz. Before bath has always been nappy-off time in here!

iota · 26/04/2005 18:14

ditto socci

TheVillageIdiot · 26/04/2005 18:15

sorry mine was a joke btw (just to clarify)

Fimbo · 26/04/2005 18:17

Just take it off DS and let it all hang loose so to speak

Gobbledigook · 26/04/2005 18:28

Will leave it for maybe 20 mins otherwise I'll bring bathtime forward or just take it off and leave without OR put a new one on but then put that one on again after the bath if still dry (pull ups)

depends if you mean stinky wet or stinky dirty...dirty nappies always change immediately, wet nappies could stay on another hour or so if bath time near.

dot1 · 26/04/2005 22:00

ds pooed today about 10 minutes before bath time so I was steadfastly ignoring it but then he sat down with a thump (is just learning to walk but falling a lot) and we heard a huge SPLAT sound - poo shooting out over the top of his nappy...!! That'll teach us not to be lazy Mummies...

Thomcat · 26/04/2005 22:05

Don't have a set bathtime so change nappies when they need changing or every few hours (unless done a poo, then immediatley).

Thomcat · 26/04/2005 22:06

If I was about to bath her and she dirtied her nappy I'd just bring the bath time forward.

vicdubya · 26/04/2005 22:09

Half an hour tonight

Don;t think ds suffered but he was walking a bit weirdly.

Flossam · 26/04/2005 22:09

DOt1, you just made me gag on my drink!! I don't change my nappies that often. If he is pooey and I know about it I change. But if he dosen't poo I'll only do say about 4 nappy changes a day. Is that very bad? BTW he has never had nappy rash. He has a perfect bum... think I've pretty much answered my own question there haven't i?

Thomcat · 26/04/2005 22:13

I think 4 changes a day is ok. Unless they poo then it could go up.
I've never taken off a nappy that was so heavy I felt bad except for the 1st thing in the morning one and I don't feel bad about that.

Libb · 26/04/2005 22:14

I am also a "not after 5.30" girl, just seems pointless and DS doesn't grumble so if he is happy then I am happy . . . .

Flossam · 26/04/2005 22:15

Yes, with the weaning the amount of poos is increasing! Although he spends a day or so constipated every so often too.

Libb · 26/04/2005 22:16

I used to strip him but he gets everywhere now so I don't want to find little gifts

(thomcat, hope you are okay xxx)

joash · 26/04/2005 22:16

Til it leaks out of the side and slides down their legs (yippee - another type of poo thread ).

wordsmith · 26/04/2005 22:16

I realised at about 5.30 the other day I hadn't changed my 12 month old's nappy since about 11am. It was a bit heavy, but not stinky, so I just thought sod it and left it till bathtime (7pm). I normally only do about 4 changes a day, unless there are unexpected poos!

savsmummy · 26/04/2005 22:25

I can never handle the stink for very long ... by the third grunt sav's produced, the whole room smells like the rhino pavilion at the zoo
