Am I stupid/thick?

My ds had his bday party on monday and I forgot my camera so my sil took some and then passed them on to me on a memory stick.
I put them on my Facebook and named everyone on the pics.
Iv just had a call from dh saying that his bro and sil have asked me to remove the names of their kids.
He said it was a stupid thing to do and you just dont do something like that.
I am so embarrassed! I have removed all the names.
I just didnt think anything of it and now feel really silly and am now sitting here thinkin that Im not protecting my own children.
What do you all think?

I do not think it is about paedophiles but IMO once the pictures of your dcs are on the net, anyone can print them and do whatever they want with them (the pictures, not the kids) they become public property.

The only thing about privacy settings on fb (and I am a user myself and put my babys and my nieces pics up)is that even if you only have a limited amount of friends (who u knw prsonlly)...like I do - if one of those friends comments on ur photo - that photo and the rest of the album are available 2 b seen by the friend who commented friends...and a lot of ppl add any tom dick r harry.I wouldnt worry abt my ds's pictures being up - but maybe I would if he was in nursery or school and xposed to other ppl out of my control. I have put pics of my best friends kids up (bcos Iknew she wudn mind)and wrte "sch a persns kids and taggd her eldest daughtr whos on my fb" but I dnt add pics of my ds's friends whos parents dont hav them on fb

can i ask, why on earth would you go through every photo and name everyone on the photos? waht is the point of this? i have been wondering this for a while now
