Funny I have the same problem. DD #1 never kicked. Was even in hospital more than once for lack of movement. She sleeps great now and runs nonstop...

Now pregnant again with DD #2 who never sleeps and is always kicking.

Interesting to see what people will say but your not alone!!

Dd2 was really active. She slept through the night after she was born . Dd1 was also very active and was a poor sleeper (didn't sleep through until she was 3).

ds2 did not move much at all - went in twice to have movements monitored. He is now 4 and still rarely sleeps through the night and is 'on' from the moment his eyes open. So no correlation here.

DS was a real kicker and very active in utero - he is now very restless and not a great sleeper at all! still kicks in the night, even when he is sleeping

First two, didn't kick much, slept horrendously. Last one, kicked for England, sleeps wonderfully.

Habbibu · 08/03/2009 15:22

dd kicked a lot - slept well until 6 mo, badly from then to about 14mo, and now sleeps 3 hours in the afternoon and 11 at night. I'm more than happy with that!

DaisyMooSteiner · 08/03/2009 15:22

I don't think it necessarily correlates. I went to hospital with 'excessive' movement with ds1 and he's a great sleeper. Ds3 was just kinda normal with his movements but still doesn't sleep through at 3 1/2 yo.

You might not get a good sleeper this round. But you'll cope if you do! Honestly, there's absolutely ZERO point worrying about it now; you can't do a darn thing about it at this point so try and enjoy your pregnancy!

I love being anecdotical !
Ds didn't kick a lot. Or at least not enough for a apprehensive first time mum like me . He wasn't a great sleeper.
Dd kicked a lot. She was a very sleepy baby.

Don't worry..my DS kicked me so much I think he was playing footy in there, but he sleeps really well.

Purely anecdotal of course but hopefully will offer some comfort
