When do we go dry at night?

DS 2.5 about to start potty training. Some friends have said that their children went dry day and night all at the same time - how likely is this? Could be a problem as DS has 8oz milk at bedtime and takes water to bed - need to know when and how to restrict this fluid intake - or else I guess I will be dealing with a pile of laundry. Advice please.......

She got to phone home the first week because she had an accident and had to go to the walk in centre and then after the week they phoned from the head mitress' flat. After first exeat they were allowed to take their mobiles back, so lots of texts!

cool. I wish we had had mobiles and laptops back then .. it wouldve been easier than having to write letters! That said I doubt very much my mum wouldve let me have a mobile. You ok with her going back this term?

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 21:42

they're not allowed laptops (yet). Yes after 4 weeks I'm looking forward to some thinking space again! She loves it, has a birthday outing all planned and I'm seeing her Wed anyway for orthadontist appt, then the 25th for her birthday, then exeat again......

mine was 2.5 when he was dry in the day, but now at 5.5 he is only just dry at night 5 out of 7 nights.
I restrict drinks from 6.30pm.
too soon imho.

great .. things really sound like they have changed there. I don't remember too many visits and trips but then after the first year my mum got married and moved to new york so that made things slightly more difficult! I hope she has a fantastic term. I am waiting to see whether ds gets into our preferred school - we hear on Thursday as he is due to start in September!

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 21:50

The longest they ever go without exeat is just short of 4 weeks but I think that is only twice a year. It's all cabin beds now and she's in the best house backing onto Ash (??? the place where they hang out together outside) Brunch on a Sunday is croissants, pastries etc etc etc!

We don't find out school allocation until Feb, but as a sibling dd4 should be fine.

bodiddly · 10/01/2009 21:51

what house is she in?

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 21:53

Barnes A

bodiddly · 10/01/2009 21:55

I was in Col A though a lot of my mates were in Barnes A

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 21:58

It's got good access for parking when you collect They've got a lovely pool now, not sure what else is fairly new - well the huge flat screen telly with freeview, kitted out kitchen in house, the grecians have their own houses. I'm sure a fair bit has changed as they were all refurbished in the last 5 years.

bodiddly · 10/01/2009 22:02

I really should pop down and take a look at some point or go to an Old Blues Day.

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 22:04

No doubt they'll try and get donations out of you! Have you checked out the forum there is for pupils past & present, seems quite friendly.

bodiddly · 10/01/2009 22:06

I used to be fairly active in the old boy network but have let it lapse over the last few years. Still get the magazine etc. Haven't got any money they can have at the moment either!

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 22:08

Who knows perhaps your ds will end up there! How's your dp's/fil business going, okay?

bodiddly · 10/01/2009 22:10

lousy at the moment unfortunately. Very little work around. January and February are usually quiet but it seems worse than usual. I don't think dp would allow ds to go away from home ... he doesn't really understand. Mind you, I am not sure I would find it easy. Something tells me he isn't going to be bright bright though. So long as he is happy I don't really care where he goes.

bodiddly · 10/01/2009 22:11

sorry once again ladders cargirl and I seem to have been catching up on your thread!

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 22:14

about the business.

I have no idea why she was determined to go even after a place came up at the "good" local school - I thought the reality may be too much to cope with, but she seems suited I guess. She's been unwell though lots of tonsil/throat/cold, even more germ ridden than school I guess!

Will have to put messenger back on my pc and catch up one evening.

bodiddly · 10/01/2009 22:16

anyway, good to catch up ... am going to think about packing up and watching some tv in bed! Night.

CarGirl · 10/01/2009 22:23

night x
