DS is 2 and 2 months, if we take of his nappies he will run round and wee inthe potty at will - doing a little bit - clapping himself, gettign on and doing a bit more. If he has a poo he doesnt always tell us then after backs up to us to have a look in. He is only just starting to talk. He has also sat onthe small toilet seat and had a wee inthe big toilet - no poos though.

We went for it at this stage.

Look for pre poo signs...so you can prompt him (even if he is already started, if done in a positive and praising way i think he will get this himself). Don't worry about the talk, as he will understand you instructions if you use normal every day language.

We had three potties - one upstairs, one downstairs and one in the car/buggy.

If it goes wrong, just change him and say nothing - or try doing it in the potty, can you remember next time? - our DS sorted the poo easily ans I think this approach helped.

Our friend told her son off when he had an accident and he began sneaky pooing!!!

Carry on with the wee. Buy some loose easy pants (make a big fuss about the pants being fo big boys). Borrow a picture book from the library. Show and practise pulling the pants down and up. Down is more important!

Good luck.

We got on really well, then had a two week relapse. Now been dry for six months, occasional odd accidents when tired or very busy or ill.
