sorry not sure where to place this but sure someone has one of these games.

The butterflies dont fly out we are stood waiting for them - then once in a while one will make its way out. Do you think this is faulty? Should I tqke it back?

Probably not using strong enough batteries. It says that somewhere on the pack. It also runs out of batteries quickly!

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 27/12/2008 15:49

you have to give the base a bit of a nudge sometimes

Jbck · 27/12/2008 15:58

Even if you use strong brand new batteries & nudge it, it is still pretty rubbishy.

DD1 pestered me to get this for her birthday last year (6) & I tried all the 'its a baby toy' tricks but she really went on, think it's been out 3 times in a year. DD2 might enjoy it in a year or so so it's not been consigned to the scrap heap yet.

We have one of these but the fish version,i thought it was broke too.I think we cut the tube down a bit so it didn't have to blow them so far in the end.It was still pretty crap but did work better with decent batteries.

Astarte · 27/12/2008 16:25

no not faulty, simply shite!

I swear to god trading standards should get involved for those adverts. Even Duracell batteries didn't get the same effect as the advert

Pheebe · 27/12/2008 16:29

Ours was fine! Flew out exactly as on the advert.

Check the sleeve for air leaks (them tape em up), make sure you have new batteries in, make sure the neck part is clicked in place properly, failing that definitely take it back

DoubleBluff · 27/12/2008 16:31

you do have to give it a shake now and again

muggglewump · 27/12/2008 16:32

DD got this for Christmas three years ago. We played once and it was shite. I still have it all boxed up in the cupboard and now I've been reminded it will be getting Charity Shopped in the New Year.
Totally crap game.

tazmosis · 28/12/2008 00:44

Ours is the same - set it going and nothing happens. DD's gutted as were really excited to have been given it - was going to try it with duracell batteries, but if that doesn't work will take it back.

HappyMummyOfOne · 28/12/2008 15:09

Ours works fine, butterflies only come out slowly when batteries are running out. Has to be Duracell though, cheaper batteries dont work as well with this game.

Pawslikepaddington · 28/12/2008 15:12

You need to make sure the funnel is totally straight too, if ours is not totally vertical and totally round nothing comes out of it xx

Pawslikepaddington · 28/12/2008 15:12

We take our funnel off sometimes too-much more fun imo

twinklytoes · 28/12/2008 21:54

put the butterflies back in one at a time and make sure each wing is not crumpled.
