Basically I was told that as long as I received no money I was fine claiming income support. Now (two years later) when I am working, I have been told this is incorrect. Now I am worried sick that a massive bill lands on my doorstep or worse still I could be in trouble for fraud!!

yes. you are entitled to income support even if you get full financial cover of fees with the ou. the financial cover of fees never actually lands in your hands, it is given by the ou to the ou (if that makes sense) to cover the cost of your study. if the title was the other way round...as in, i claim income support, am i entitled to ou fee cover, then it might be different. but no, its not fraudulent.

the post seems different to the title though...if you were working while claiming income support then it may be seen as fraudulent. but this would depend on the level of income you earned, as income support is given to those who need 'support on a low income'.

basically though, the ou is nothing to do with the government benefit system.
