The masons and lions do lots of charitable stuff so can 'afford' to offer something like this for free. Our local round table send santa round on a sleigh and he visits various fares and fetes and you can get your photo taken with him (no gift) for free (if you can find him). Other places, specially businesses and those that offer a gift/photo, have to charge to cover the cost of the gift/photo and hiring 'Santa' for the day and I think thats fair enough tbh.

There is just one place I can think of inSheffield where you can still see FC for free and recieve a small gift.

DD saw FC at a farm live nativity with school on Monday. As part of the ticket (just under £010 each I believe - we paid £5 contribution) the children got dressed up, took part int he live nativity with real animals, had a donke ride, had a drinka dn biscuit ad then saw a lovely FC. He spent quite a long time with each group (they went in in threes) chatting to them and he gave them all quite a decent gift too. They were all over the moon. No photos taken though although you could have taken your own.

At Meadowhall FC seems to be a 3D show for £4. Doesn't say that children get to meet him or recieve a gift though; I suspect not from that link.

You can also see him in his grotto in the city centre, on The Moor, for £2 inc a gift. Proceeds for charity.

dilemma - it was. I was looking enough to go to as I help out at school anyway and was invited as the school's guest. Was a lovely experience. And the best FC experience I have known.
