Thanks, LM I thought my main worries were about becoming fat and spotty and accidentally pregnant anyway (Now that's what I call contraception ) I will certainly be on the alert.

Glad to hear that nursery has been better for all today

I was a bit about not taking my 2 to the playgroup today (they have to go to the CM's instead as I have work to do). I think I must be missing it as much as them (it's the type of group where I stay throughout though) and I'd rather be with them than work.

GoodGrrrl · 08/01/2009 15:20

counselling thing not done round here- DH was referred for one almost as soon as DS2 was born, and nobody asked him how many kids he had (or even if he had any!)

tracyface · 08/01/2009 15:22

Chaotica and LM - I had a Mirena for over a year about 6 years ago but I couldnt get on with it as it seemed to give me thrush and constant spotting was a right pain in the (well not bum, but nearly probably also tmi) And lol at it falling out and you not noticing - I def noticed when they took mine out, but then I have a very low pain threshold.

Isaac has developed an aversion to 'the shapes' in Mr Maker on cbeebies. He manages to hold it together until they leap off the shelf and then cries hysterically. Its odd and I cant understand why he is so scared of them. Must make sure to turn them off in future as poor little thing gets in a right state. My dp thought it was really funny till I gave him to him to calm down and it took ages.

i hate Mistermaker- his face annoys me!

I was terrified of the Moomins when i was little, because they had no mouths (or was it noses?) Anyway, i used to have nightmares about them!

Hi! I have 2 DS's, 2 and half yrs and 14mths.

tracyface · 08/01/2009 16:34

Hi Starlight I have a dd 21months and a ds 11 months. Oh and three other ds (that dont count for this thread) aged 18, 16 and 10.

GG I know what you mean about Mr Maker's face being annoying- he tries too hard. Good news about your wednesday swop as nice to have two days off together.

Off to do school run. Roll on it getting light in the evenings. I hate it when its dark and cold and have to get everyone's coats on and bundle them in the car again when we are all cosy and not wanting to go out.

Just taken a great photo of them. Both with their bums in the air as they have squeezed in under the coffee table and are now stuck but looked so funny!

They also keep doing this head pushing thing a bit like stags butting their antlers together. Melissa keeps trying to move him but he is stronger than her and she doesnt like it when he is crawling after her.

Have a nice evening and hope everyone gets some sleep x

Jewelsandgems · 08/01/2009 19:38

I am so glad this thread exists, because we have always said just said 'just one' and then 'just two'. I think it may be that I am a SAHM and that it won't effect work. Although, you all make excellent points about a) our house will not be big enough b) car not being big enough for all those car seats. It is a company car so no choice there - saying that it is a brand new passat, cannot imagine them offering anything bigger! So, thanks girls for pointing out those things. Although LM/GG you make a good point too about not having the snip, if there is any thoughts at all about me having another baby. what to do? Well, DH asked his friend at work what his was like (his snip, not like his 'bits'] and at least now he is realising it is something that will need to happen if we are not wanting any more children.

The potty training is going as I expected with a 1 year old. She wakes with dry nappy, I pop her on potty, she grins and then that's it. I think me using the term potty training is inappropriate - let's face it, she is lucky to do a wee in her potty, and it's more getting her used to sitting and weeing with no nappy. We did the same with Freya, and she was fully potty trainind at 2 so it is like a 'familiarisation course'.

So glad chaotica your Freya is not letting her ear get her down - what a brave little girl you have!

Chaotica · 08/01/2009 21:34

Welcome, Starlight - I have DD 2.8 and ds 15m.

luckymummy74 · 09/01/2009 14:39

LOL jewels at 'familiarisation course'....you could probably set up a business and charge yummy mummies everywhere £30 an hour for that.....

I went to 'body attack' last night at the gym....[extreme pain smiley]

GoodGrrrl · 09/01/2009 14:59

Body attack sounds nasty!!
I feel like a bloater after Xmas- my jeans are digging into me as i speak

Potty training George not going too bad, although he had an accident while we were waiting for CM this morning, and i got annoyed with him trying to change him in a rush What made it even worse was him looking at me sadly and saying 'sorry Mammy' I still feel rubbish about it.

tracyface · 09/01/2009 15:01

lol luckymummy - Well done you for excersizing. I have my own body attack going on here only its called eating too many chocolate biscuits and mince pies. I have loads left over and am trying to get rid of them after christmas. I have decided to start my diet and excercise regime in Febuary as I still feel ill (sore throat for about 4 weeks) and I read somewhere that its healthier to not try and diet when you are fighting off a virus.

So thats my excuse to still scoff biscuits everytime I have a cup of tea which seems to be almost every half and hour. My dp bought me for christmas (how romantic)one of those hot water maker things. You are probably thinking 'its a kettle' but no, it just filters and instantly heats enough for one cup at a time of hot water. And makes the tea taste quite nice.

Been to the dentist this morning for some painful treatment . A crown and a bridge so feeling a bit sorry for myself this afternoon.

Worryingly the babies have been in bed for two and a half hours. So think I had better wake them up or they will not want to go to bed tonight.

galen · 09/01/2009 17:33

just exploring more of Mn and ound this thread. Popping in for a super quick hello - I only qualify for another 4 days as DD 4 will be 3 on Wed LOL! I have 6 children all together aged 10,9,6,4,almost 3 and 9 months. I have had 2 under 3 several times over the last few years - hang in there ladies - it will pass LOL

luckymummy74 · 09/01/2009 22:42

You have taken tracyfaces crown......

P.S. Welcome....

tracyface · 10/01/2009 11:12

wow galen! I agree with LM (very impressed) you have done it in much shorter age gaps than me.

Melissa insisting on being a Pairy (fairy)and doing magic with her wand this morning. She looks so funny but keeps getting cross with me because I wont help her fly (Thanks grandad for that game yesterday afternoon!)

Hope it warms up this weekend as off to meet dp elderly Aunt and Uncle at Kew gardens tomorrow so no doubt the kids will be on best behaviour (not )

Now got to battle with 10 year old to get his three pieces of homework done so I dont have to do any more its over with until monday. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

luckymummy74 · 10/01/2009 13:02

tracyface good luck with your trip out....we went out this morning and it was blardy freezing!!!

Jewelsandgems · 10/01/2009 20:33

Welcome galen and definate salut to you

We went shopping today, bought Izzy her first pair of walking shoes, and freya some wellies (she also needs some more boots, but shops are not stocking them anymore! arrgh!)

Also bought the girls some pjs from debenhams, and Izzy a little bathrobe.

and LM I just recovered from the bodybalance and then had pilates Friday and the aches are back! [saying that, I love it when I ache because shows doing some good - except what I had that...erm....wrist injury...] What does bodyattack involve? [interested emoticon]

Well girls we are away for DHs birthday for a few days to a child friendly hotel which I am already feeling a bit stressed about! I mean, the amount of stuff we seem to need to take....

night all

tracyface · 12/01/2009 11:02

Trip out went ok but as usual we were late and then bad planning meant both needed lunch when we got there so had to stop straight away and go for a coffee. Weather was not too bad and kids managed well considering they didnt manage to sleep. Melissa spent most of the time walking but it was the same pace as the elderly uncle so didnt feel like we were holding everyone up. Didnt realise kew was so big and must go back again when the weather is warmer.

Jewels - hope you have a nice break away!

Chaotica · 13/01/2009 13:22

Hi Ladies and welcome Galen [respect emoticon]

Just had two whole nights away from the DCs to go and visit my mum who is v. sick (not really what I'd had in mind when I'd imagined my first child-free evenings in years). I missed them all, but DP and the kids seem to have coped OK (especially since I had the car) but I now have a very very clingy 15m DS. He screams at the slightest hint I might be going more than 1 metre away from him [aaaaargh!]. (He's never been left overnight before.) He won't even settle himself any more (in case I leave while he's asleep?) - I hope he gets over it soon.

Chaotica · 13/01/2009 21:36

Evening, Ladies

Hope you had a good time away, Jewels.

It does seem to require packing the kitchen sink, but we had a great time last time we went away. DD has just worked out what a hotel is (although I think she thinks we're going to move in ). (Fortunately, she can't tell the difference between a fancy hotel and a cheap one - don't intend on letting her know any time soon.)

luckymummy74 · 14/01/2009 11:00

I'm in pppppaaaaiiiinnnnn!

GoodGrrrl · 14/01/2009 13:31

Hello Ladies. Having the monring from hell here- all they have done is shout and fiht and cry. They are both napping thank god, before round 2

Have ordered a pilates book for myself, and found my lovely comfy running trousers which i thought i'd lost...just need to get off my expanding bum now.

I really wish DH wasn't such a collector of things- we're boxing up all our CDs, DVDs and books from the living room before the builders start tomorrow. Granted, some are mine, but probably only 10% of them. It looks like we're moving house!! Still got more to do tonight, and someone from freecycle is coming to get a bookcase we don't need anymore aswell. I have to keep telling myself how lovely it will be when it's done...

luckymummy74 · 14/01/2009 17:32

grrr It will be lovely, and worth it. I hate having work done on the house (I hate mess and disorganisation) but it is always nice to get your home back to normal.

Jewelsandgems · 14/01/2009 21:16

Evening girls

we he had a lovely break, the hotel room was excellent (we had two interconnecting rooms) and chaotica Freya definately thinks we are moving in. When we set off home she asked if we were going to the 'old house'.

Well done grrrl about the pilates book God I just cannot motivate myself unless in a class atmosphere. And also to make sure I am not doing it wrong.

Am just waiting for the dishwasher to finish and then am going to make some bottles. Back to normal life tomorrow. We have a holiday booked for Feb, and one for June but we cannot afford to go away for both. Deciding what to do is driving us crazy! It's like just make a decision already!
