Softening cotton nappies - how?? (and dying cotton nappies...)

I've just got some tots bots but hey are soooo stiff!

Whats the best way to soften them up and keep them soft?

Also I'm planning on dying the 8-10 white nappies I have pink,

the rest are rainbow bots but are ALOT more faded than I expected, do you think I could dye them pink too, they are green, yellow and orange but very faded!

TIA!

A couple of washes with soapnuts softens them up a lot. Washing in white vinegar as a softener helps too.

tumble drying makes em very soft.

Yup - go for it with the dyeing. If you go for a bright pink rather than a baby pink it will cover the rainbows better. You will need a few packs of machine dye to get the lot done though - you can do about 8 nappies per machine pack.
