London Hotel - Where should we stay, prefer Covent Garden End

you did so well with coming up with ideas for places of interest but where should we stay???? me hub and 3 YO

I can't recommend one in particular, but there are lots of hotels on Montague Street, which is a stones throw from the British Museum and 10 mins walk from Covent Garden. They are all in beautiful Georgian houses - nicer than a big chain imho.
