you darling child comes through in the middle of the night, snuggles up, and then prompty throws up all over you, the bed, the duvet, the works.

My lovely mattress that has been immaculate for almost a year is now pukey.

you whip out your notebook in a meeting but can't find a blank page as they're covered in drawings of dinosaurs and ben 10 alien creatures....

when a snotty kiss makes you smile

and pretend to be a robot in a busy bus stop just to make your son laugh

when sleeping to 7am is a lie in

you hide behind the kitchen door to have a bit of chocolate because it is 10am and we don't eat sweeties in the morning.

you spend too much time on MN

When a child climbs into your bed on the way to the loo snuggles up to you,and then wees. You'd rather sleep in warm urine than get up and change the sheets.

You stop shopping for yourself and buy only baby related things instead.

when "because I said so" seems like a reasonable argument.....

when 10 - midnight, 2 - 4am is a good nights sleep.....

when going to the loo alone is like the holy grail....

When you can look at your two year old and know instantly, that they have been Up To Something. (Water/paint on floor, crayon on walls etc., etc.,)
I quite like this, makes me feel like a proper mummy.

When having your face covered in dribble makes you happy rather than annoyed - because your child was trying to give you a kiss

re poo sniffing...

I think the real step is when you find your self sniffing the bums of children who don't belong to you
