Zoey and Sassafras book series

Has anyone read this book series? I was recommended it for my 6 year old DD but not sure whether it is a bit twee and a bit American (not to disparage American authors but sometimes their children’s stories are bit too American in terms of vocabulary and things like school experience which makes it less relatable).

Would be very grateful for any feedback.

DD has them as audio books on her Yoto (she's 7 but has had them a year or so). They're not a favourite but ahe enjoys them.
