How many days per week at nursery is the optimum for a 3 year old? What would you do if you were renovating a house so need the childcare time to manage the project, but also don’t work so could have them at home?
thanks ☺️

I think half days more regularly is better for the actual child but maybe not so easy to manage.

For full days, a minimum of two otherwise they will feel somewhat out of the loop.

I’d probably want to get the renovations done as quickly as possible. I would do 4 or 5 days a week starting early as workers tend to get in at 0800, then pick up around 1600 when they leave. Make sure they leave everything tidy and safe.

I think three. I have a three year old and I do want her to have this time with me because once she’s at school that’s it. But equally some preschool and getting used to routines are important.

Always have done 3 days at 3.

picked up to 4 days for the summer term before they start school full time

How much time do you need? That’s the point of nursery. To give you back childfree to get things done.

I would go for whole days and me personally, I’d want at least 3 full days, but depends on how much time you need and can afford.

As many as is needed for the parents to be able to work. Renovating a house presumably is a form of work, and if you’re actually living on the house whilst renovating then it’s probably better to got it done as fast as possible, plus it’s not safe to be doing it with a toddler around.

What will they be doing while not at nursery? If you are taling them to groups/lessons, the library, the park etc, doing crafts, playong games etc... thats different to them having to entertain themselves all the tine while you are concentrating on the renovations.

5 days a week, but shorter days so pick up at 3pm-ish.

Mine does very well with routine. He likes waking up knowing he is going to school. But 8-6 is a long day so a short day of 9-3 woule work well.

We did 3 days (9 - 4.30pm) at that age which worked well, though I think 5 mornings would have been better for the dc. They do get a lot out of the socialising at that age and it's good for them to have more frequent sessions, but not too long.
