Where to buy slim fitting trousers online for a Year 7 boy

Boy child, year 7 has SEN. Said child needs new trousers, zero chance of taking them to a shop so I need to buy online. Where can I look for slim waist trousers that won’t make him look like a: his mum has dressed him or b: he’s about to steal a car?

Can you not order online from a supermarket? Like George or Tu. Or go in a shop without him

I have had good luck with amazon. Zeko is a brand I bought a lot for ds when he was younger - he has SPD - and they fo really good soft elasticated waists..

M&S do a huge range and their slim fit ones are slim. They also have an adjustable waist and an additional hem you can unpick to extend the length so you can get a good long time out of them as they grow. My ds is very tall but narrow waist and these have always been the best for us....until y11 when he was too tall for them and most mens trousers as well.

I’ve always found supermarket clothes a false economy once past toddler age as they don’t wash well or last very long. I’d rather not dedicate an afternoon to visiting the high street if I can help it!

I second M and S slim fit. My eldest is a bean pole. At 10 he needs 12 to 13 for height and 7 to 8 for waist. The marks' have adjustable waist and also extra inches in the hem for length. They last all year as well.

We are fine for school trousers, we need casual trousers.

I am always struggling for slim waist which does not require adjustment as my son found those adjusting waists extremely uncomfortable. M%S really never worked, they have wide waist even with slim leg or slim waist trousers.
I have bought Zeko from amazon on advice I read here a few years ago and they worked well - just be careful, some of them are advertised as fully elasticated waist trousers, but are not, only half waist, but some are full elastic and those were very comfortable for my son at that age.
Also I have found that Asda does elasticated waist trousers in longer length, so I bought the younger age, but longer lenght which also worked really well as waist is smaller. For example, at 9 yo I would buy those for age 7-8 with long legs. These are only available online.

H&M chinos & joggers for skinny kids, in their 8-14 range. Next also do a lot of their jeans in slim/regular/baggy cut online.

Just saw you update about casual trousers - it really depends, but for sports trousers I often buy Decathlon (some are fairly slim) and Vertbaudet, which come in a range of waists for their jeans. And occasionally some models in Zara or Next work too.

crazycatladie · 12/09/2026 09:35

Next or M&S

TheTortiePuffinNeedsHerBreakfast · 12/09/2026 09:38

My DS is very slim. Next was always my first port of call in his tween/teen years. Many of their trousers have adjustable waist.

MagicUser1 · 12/09/2026 10:55

Oh, sorry, I didn't realise you wanted casual trousers. I have always found the sports brands best for this. Nike, Adidas etc.

I think you for confused responses by referring to his school year, I think most of us thought you meant school trousers.

Try H&M for casual trousers

MiceSpiders · 12/09/2026 13:58

DS is tall and very slim we find h&m, lindex and m&s the best bet for casual trousers

This should have said ‘I think you got’ but I didn’t realise in time to edit it
