Hey thinking of breastfeeding my baby he's 8 months old now and I've never pumped or breastfed but he keeps seeming to want to try we tried twice a newborn he didn't get anything but I'm thinking of trying again he was on Aldi formula for birth to 6 months then tried a mix of little steps SMS and cow and gate both follow on milk so wondering if also pumping could work first to see if I even mange to get anything before he tries and maybe he'll be a combo baby?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

And for the future, maybe it’ll help you get on in life a bit better, you could have said ‘Not sure if you meant X, but actually…’ (so that if you have misunderstood you’ve given yourself room to row back) instead of going straight in with ‘If you don’t have the knowledge…’ Now you’ve both just been an arse and made yourself look like an arse in one fell swoop 👏 The MN double.

I meant nutrition purely due to the lack of volume, not due to the constitution of the milk…

No you didn't. You could have left it with "he won't get much milk" or you could have said "I doubt he'll get enough milk to be worth the effort" if that's what you meant. But you didn't.

The OP clearly said she would continue with the formula alongside breastfeeding so the nutrition doesn't wholly matter.

If I come across as defensive it's because I am. Breastfeeding is the one topic where people feel free to spout nonsense and spread misinformation and I can and will correct it. Even if that means I am and look like an arse occasionally.

Are you the tyoe of person that thinks anything other than indifference requires therapy? A question has been asked by OP.
She hasn't asked for armchair psychoanalysis. Good grief. 😵‍💫

No not at all. My point was that I think it’s so unusual to even be thinking this way 8 months post partum, and combined with the OP’s other odd post looking for ‘mum or dad friends’ it’s either coming from some deep seated issues or (more likely) it’s utter bullshit from some weirdo…

I wouldn’t start now no. It’s beyond me why anyone would.

Yes, unusual.
The psychoanalysis is a stretch, though.
Hope it's not a weirdo.
