Alternatives to sleeping bags for a 9 month old advice

I think my 9 month old hates his sleeping bag and thinking of using a blanket/s. My question is: what are the best kind of blankets for this age and the upcoming cold weather? If he was around a year I think I’d be going straight for a cot bed duvet if I’m honest… but still have a few months to go.

Our bedroom is quite warm (he is still in our room) and last night we put him in the cot with long sleeved PJs & socks only - he slept all night. We have had 6 weeks of 45 min/hourly wake ups 😐

I don’t want to spend ££ on higher tog sleeping bags when he potentially doesn’t like them. I can’t seem to buy them from supermarkets like George or Tu, because they’re too short. His current sleeping bags are from M&S, size 6-18m and his feet are almost at the bottom.

How about sleeping bags with legs? I think Slumbersac make good ones.

I used to do long sleeved cotton pjs with socks, and then add fleece pjs over the top when it was cooler. A few nights a year we used a sleeping bag with legs, but mostly double PJ's were enough.

See if there is a local WhatsApp group for hand me downs. Then you can try a few solutions without breaking the bank. Otherwise Vinted is good.

Mine went into padded suits because they were so mobile by 9 months they were getting hurt in the sleeping bags.
