Will a four month sleep regression feel different with frequent waking already?

My almost 4 month old has always woken every 1-2 hours overnight (cosleeping) with the occasional 3 hour stretch at the start of the night. Whenever I read of people’s experience of 4 month sleep regression, it’s babies doing 5-8 hour stretches then suddenly waking 1-2 hours. If my baby is already waking 1-2 hours, will I not notice a difference or should I prepare myself for 30-45 min stretches? 😅

My eldest was a very wakeful newborn and I didn’t notice any change in his sleep around 4 months. Knew a lot of mums at the time who were really thrown by the 4 months regression, so when my second was sleeping through around 2-3 months, I knew not to get used to it! Theoretically they could start waking between every cycle, so stretches could be less than an hour for a while, but I think the kind of stretches you’re already seeing are more typical

My son was always a good sleeper and there was no difference at four months or any time. My DD harder to put down bit at three months she got much better and no regression at any point. Maybe because they slept in their own cots from day one. Both exclusively breastfed.
