Child-friendly holiday destinations with short flights from the Highlands

I’m looking for recommendations for holiday destinations. I live in the highlands and would like a short easy flight to somewhere that is child friendly. My child is 1 years old.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Pretty much anything can be child friendly, especially at that age. Where can you get cheap short flights from your nearest airport?

In the toddler years, I did lots of city breaks. You can go to playgrounds and gardens. Go to markets and try new foods. Mine loved the fruit and smoothies in Spanish markets. A mix of museums that are interesting to you (I just put them in a sling and went during nap time) and to them. The beach.

Barcelona was great, as was Valencia and Malaga (the city not the resort bit). I took mine to Venice, but not til a bit older as obviously lots of water to fall into. Amsterdam would be excellent as still young enough to not ask questions about the dodgy bits. Really it’s where you can fly to.

I start there, look at what’s like £29 a person on Ryanair and then build a holiday from there.

A short flight from where? Inverness? Aberdeen? Edinburgh? Glasgow? Obviously if can travel to the central belt you'll have more options.
