Should I discuss puberty with my daughters together or separately?

I've two daughters aged 11 and 9. I think the elder is getting a lot of nonsense at school about her changes which will come along soon. Is it a good idea to talk about this to the two girls together, or entirely separately?

Personally I would speak to my two together, because I think the dynamic would be less intense. But it's so individual to your situation I think you just need to imagine both scenarios and see what feels right.

I’m surprised even the youngest hasn’t had puberty lessons at school yet? My eldest is year 5 and they definitely had it this year and last year and physically she is developing everywhere so I’m surprised her changed haven’t already started to show?

Separately or together depends on if they would prefer that, how they get on,
but don’t hang about, you are very late to this -
puberty can start around age 8 ….
get on with it !!

Both together and separately, as soon as possible. I have talked about puberty with my two girls together for the general stuff, and with my eldest for things specifically about her (mostly shopping for crop tops, getting a period kit sorted for when she starts).

At 11 things will already be changing for your eldest, and it doesn't do anyone any good to be ignorant. Fortunately school will have already covered quite a lot with your children.

What do you mean by ‘nonsense’??

The two girls will either already have stated puberty or are about to, so either way, just crack on.

I think I’d do a combination of together and separate in your shoes. It shouldn’t just be one conversation

By nonsense I mean what they hear in the playground as opposed to what they're taught in class.

My younger isn't showing any signs and they only get pretty simple stuff at school. My elder has a biology understanding but that's not the same as a mum sitting down to talk the whole thing through properly.
