Socks for newborns that are thick and stay on?

My baby is due around Christmas and I remember I had some socks for my last baby that stayed on really well and were nice and thick but can’t remember where I got them and then others that were quite thin and fell off constantly. Any recommendations?

Would you not just have them in onesies with feet in the middle of winter?

Get Sock Ons to keep them on, then you don’t have to worry

I used tights/stockings for all three during winter. So easy also brilliant in winter for toddlers at play places

Footed onesies were much more practical when we had our December baby. Socks in my experience won't stay on no matter what you do.

I will have them mostly in footed onesies but for the outfits that don’t have feet during their first 3 months I will need socks x

We got some really lovely thick Laura Ashley plain white socks that stayed on. Bought them again for DD2. Think the second lot we found on Amazon.

I think NASA having been working on this for years and still haven’t cracked it.

Tights. I used them for my son , a January baby. They work much better than socks.

Leggings with feet, Zara so knitted ones every year and H&M do cotton ones. Or just sleepsuits.
There’s no need to create a problem - newborn with cold feet in leggings, to then try and solve it with something that works less.

Back in the day it used to be socks from Gap but not sure if you can get them here anymore.

We used sock ons which do work - not 100% but way better than them coming off all the time. I bought tights too but never used them.

Just use sleepsuits. Never put socks on them until they were closer to 6 months.

I put my babies in tights under their trousers etc in winter but also used baby leg warmers which kept socks on.

Don’t know if they still make? They were a great buy and lasted from newborn to potty training (keep their legs warm when wandering around sans nappy).

Edited to add that they were fab for when babies start crawling - forget about that!

Tights are soooo much easier. I struggled with socks through two boys, then my 3rd was a girl and just wore tights under leggings and it was a million times better. The Europeans are right on this one.

I used to put oneies on underneath the cute trouser/outfits.

I have some little crochet boots which work way better than socks. Someone gave me them as a bit of a joke present, but they're surprisingly practical!
