Changing types of omeprazole-acid battle?

My LO has recently changed from liquid to MUPS omeprazole. He is taking it so so much better and isn’t vomiting it up anymore but he seems to be experiencing an acid battle even though it’s the same dose. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

Moringa is an effective modulator of stomach acid as well as various other issues of the digestive system (and beyond). I have a dear friend who was able to completely come off Omeprazole cold turkey with no acid battle, just by taking just one cup of moringa tea every morning. It will completely resolve the acid battle provoked by your DS's switch.

My friend used Tropical Sun Moringa Tea. You can find it cheaper than chips in any branch of Sainsbury's that has a decent sized foreign foods aisle, or on Amazon. If DS isn't keen on the tea (it's a mild grassy flavour, not bitter), just add a little raw honey to it or let it cool and add in a splash of sugar free squash.

Whilst you only want something to help you through the switch, once you've established it's been beneficial in reducing the acid you might want to test dropping Omeprazole complete and using Moringa instead.

The reason being omeprazole really shouldn't be taken for more than a couple of weeks (check the in box leaflet and you will see it states this).

The list of side effects includes but is not limited to:

Devastating effects on the diversity of the gut microbiome. Loss of 20% of friendly bacteria species, sometimes completely, with specific types being lost (as standard) that serve very important bodily functions.

For example, patient reviews on drugs.com consistently refer to mental issues that actually stem from Omeprazole's depletion of specific friendly bacteria that lserve important functions in the gut-brain axis. This depletion drives depression, anxiety, lethargy, dizziness etc - though the patients aren't aware of the specific mechanisms driving this; microbiome dysbiosis.

Furthermore dysbiosis (microbiome imbalance) is now recognised as a causative effect in so many diseases.

Then there's also the effects of PPI medication on bone density. This will be covered on the information sheet in the box and is the clearly stated reason that PPIs shouldn't be taken for more than a couple of weeks. Unfortunately GP's aren't permitted to refer you to herbs, tho some kind ones in the know quietly will.

So when you find Moringa does the job for DS, please consider using it instead of PPI's going forward.

If you won't, then at the very least ameliorate microbiome diversity loss by looking into which species are lost to Omeprazole and replacing these daily with the appropriate probiotic supplements.

A very basic paste (studies on moringa and it's multifaceted benefits are vast in number and scope):

Moringa acts as a natural gut-soother that alleviates acid reflux by reducing stomach acid secretion, repairing the esophageal lining, and fighting inflammation. Its active phytochemicals, including glucosinolates and flavonoids, stimulate digestive secretions while protecting the gut from irritation.

Key properties for managing acid reflux include:

Anti-inflammatory: Compounds in moringa e.g. quercetin reduce inflammation in the esophagus and stomach.

Acid Regulation: various compounds help neutralize stomach acid and prevent peptic ulcers.

Antioxidant: Research indicates moringa limits mucosal damage caused by reflux.
